McCormack Family
Dennis and Mary Fitzgerald
Dennis and Mary lived in the Wollombi, Branxton and Greta areas. Their children also lived in these areas after their marriages, as well as Maitland and Boggabri.
Dennis Michael McCormick or McCormack arrived in New South Wales in about 1840. He was born about 1815 and according to the various birth certificates of his children and his death certificate he came from Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland. His parents were Patrick and Catherine (nee McCoy). Dennis died on the 16th July 1890 at Branxton New South Wales.
Mary Fitzgerald was born at Stonehall Limerick Ireland about 1832 to John and Johanna (nee O'SHAUNNESSEY). It is possible her mother's name could also have been Honora. Mary died on the 8th July 1905 at Branxton.
Their Children were:
- William Bernard (c. 1852) - no information has been found on William except that he is shown on Dennis' death certificate as being 38 at the time (in 1890)
- Thomas Frederick (born about 1853 and died at Maitland in 1923) he did not marry
- Dennis Michael MCCORMICK (born at Maitland in 1855 and died at Maitland in 1928) – He married Sophia Walton in 1892
- Catherine MCCORMICK (b:1857)
- Honora MCCORMICK (b:1860)
- Margaret McCormack (born 11/07/1862 at Lochinvar and died 31/07/1932 at Boggabri. She married Charles Patrick Dilworth at Maitland on 22/04/1889
- Ellen MCCORMICK (born 22/09/1864 at Lochivar and married John Heber at Lochinvar in 1884
- Patrick Arthur (born 1867 at Maitland and died at Branxton in 1919), He married Ellen Dowd on 2/10/1888 at Branxton
- John MCCORMICK (c 1871) - no information has been found on John as yet
