Raymond & Mabel Haukes/Hough/Howe nee Gimbert

Mabel(May)was born 4 Dec 1892 at Campbell's Creek, Murrurundi.
Mabel's parents were John & Mary Anne Gimbert nee Maughan.
Mabel died 17 Sep 1976 - aged 84 yrs at District Hospital, Port Kembla.
Raymond & Mabel are buried together at The General Cemetery Shellharbour.
Raymond & Mabel were married 27 Dec 1909 at St Paul's Church of England, Murrurundi.
Witnesses were Amy Gimbert & W. Gimbert(brides sister & brother). Minister was Harold S. D. Portus.
Raymond’s occupation was a Labourer & his usual residence was Murrurundi.
Mabel ‘s occupation was Home Duties, Dressmaking & her usual residence was Boyd’s Creek.
Raymond’s Occupation was a Shearer, Steam Engine Driver & Fireman.
The family moved to different country town, as Raymond was employed on the Railways.
Mabel & Raymond had four children-
1. John(Jack) Edward b 5 May 1911 Wedding Mountain Quirindi- d 2 Dec 1967 Aged 56 years at Burwood- m 21 Sep 1935 Gwendoline(Gwen) Ruby Hockley(b5 Mar 1912 Burwood-d5 Mar1994 Sydney, parents-John Edward & Ruby Emily Hockley nee Lucas) at Burwood.
John & Gwendoline had one son.
2. Raymond(Ray) Frederick b 16 Jan 1914 Wallerawang d 1980 Wollongong- m 1944 Ada Mary Smith at Burwood(Divorced).
Raymond joined the RAAF in WW2.
3. Walter(Wally) Victor b 7 Aug 1916 Holts Terrace, Wallerawang-d 23 Apr 2003 aged-86 yrs Windang, buried at Croome Cemetery, Albion Park- m 6 Jan 1940 Elsie(Josie) Josephine Silke(b1920 Enfield, parents John Stuart & Eva Mary Silke nee Hunt) at St Joseph's Catholic Church,Burwood Heights, Burwood.
Walter's occupation was Boilermaker.
Walter & Josie had four children.
4. Son born 1928 Enfield, married.
He had two children.
Their son Raymond served in WW2 in the RAAF as a Leading Aircraftman & Walter also joined the Army but was discharged for essential services as he was a Boiler Maker(Welder).
